Holy Trinity School is equipped with 2 computer labs, and a 1:1 Chromebook program for 4th-8th grades (see our Acceptable Use Policy for Chromebooks). There are also iPads available for all students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.

The Holy Trinity School Technology Curriculum is informed by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). ISTE divides technology skills into six areas:

  1. Creativity and Innovation
  2. Communication and Collaboration
  3. Research and Information Fluency
  4. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making
  5. Digital Citizenship
  6. Technology Operations and Concepts

Technology Skills for Research 1st semester: research from books2nd semester:

  • Use online encyclopedia for research  (each has different levels based on age/reading skills: World Book, Grolier, Brittanica). Citations can be copied and pasted.
  • Locate, independently, resources to meet a specific need:
    • Formulate questions based on need
    • Identify a variety of potential sources of information (e.g. Grolier Online, Kids InfoBits)
    • Understand the intellectual concepts of a database and database subscription service
    • Apply strategies for effective access to non-print resources, i.e. search strategies such as keyword search and subject area search)
  • Understand and discuss the concept of plagiarism

4th Grade
